More than 8 million women in the United States have gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM); it is observed in 7% of all pregnancies. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) position statement on the Diagnosis and Classification of Diabetes Mellitus lists GDM or delivery of a baby weighing > 9 lb as a risk factor for developing diabetes later in life. Women who have had a pregnancy complicated by GDM are 40–60% more likely to develop diabetes within 15–20 years.

Everyone wish to lead a healthy lifestyle but this becomes challenging in today’s busy schedule and fast food influenced world. We tend to choose fast foods and junk foods that are quick and easily available to meet our needs. This results in weight gain, in turn leading to life threatening diseases like Diabetes. To create awareness on diabetes and help you lead a healthy life, DiaSem provides the Diabetes Prevention Program.
